This class saves time and money, and gives you the benefit of private consultation and support for way less than you pay for other classes!
Many people choose to add on private consultation to the Study at Home course. The rate is $35 an hour, or 4 hours for $125.

Prepared Childbirth Weekly: These small group classes are perfect for a couple that wants the personalized attention of a private class, and the experience you get with a group class, all in one! These classes cover everything you need to know about pregnancy, childbirth, and the first few days with baby (see Prepared Childbirth Class in Private Classes, below, for a detailed description of topics covered). A comprehensive class with lots of floor and practice time for comfort measures and relaxation. Homework is assigned each week, and individual practice of material is requested. Unlike traditional group classes, my classes also include a private session to work on your birthplan, and discuss any concerns and questions you might have. Your private session is scheduled outside of normal class hours, and can be done in your own home or the classroom. Group classes are held in East Nashville in a location convenient to the interstate, right up the street from 5 Points at Woodland Presbyterian Church in the Historic Caldwell Chapel.

Private Classes
Early Pregnancy: I offer early prenatal classes that focus mainly on the choices you will face in your pregnancy and the things you can expect during those months. Emphasis is on nutrition, exercise, comfort measures for the growing mommy, setting things up for baby, and choosing a provider or hospital. It is a one time class, for 2 hours. I also offer 3 hour courses for women who had previous high risk pregnancies or issues during pregnancy with diet, health etc. The course is similar to the standard early pregnancy class with more information in the areas of greatest concern.
(2 or 3 hours, 1 class) $50
Prepared Childbirth: In addition to Labor and Delivery, my class includes sections on breastfeeding, newborn care, working with your hospital/provider, physical support strategies, birth plan execution, deep relaxation techniques, labor positioning, massage and acupressure, postpartum care, and partner bonding (to name a few!). These courses will give you an in depth look at the choices you have, and are constructed to help you make informed decisions. My class content is constantly changing, based on each couple and their desires and needs. Because these classes are private, any concerns you have get my full attention and energy.
(12 hours, broken up into 3 or more classes) $375
VBAC Class: For women who have previously had Cesarean deliveries and have a desire to try for a Vaginal Delivery. This is a comprehensive Prepared Childbirth class that concentrates special attention on tools for Vaginal delivery after C-section and the special circumstances involved.
(12 hours, 3 or more classes) $375
Refresher Courses: For women who have delivered within the past 2-3 years. This class helps you evaluate what has worked, or not, in the past for you during the birthing process. Covering all the topics of the full course while taking into consideration what you already know.
(4 hours,1 or 2 classes)
I also offer "refresher" courses that concentrate only on the VBAC aspects of deliveries for women who have had a C-section within the past 2 years, and had taken a full childbirth class (12 hours or more) during that pregnancy.

Siblings, Grandparents, etc:
Sibling classes are a great way of introducing your children to the changes they will face with a new baby. These classes cover childbirth in a way that is tailored to the age of your child. I cover newborn care , breastfeeding, ways to be helpful, and a section on what to expect when they visit the hospital . This class also offers parenting information including a packet that will help you explore positive ways to let your new "big sibling" feel involved and special. Everything is age appropriate and personalized. Areas of special concern will be addressed at your request.
1 hour/$35 for 1-2 children $10 more per additional child.
Grandparents need help too! I offer a "refresher" course for them that covers newborn care (a lot has changed!) and any other information that you request.
