About Me
As a professional my interest is in advocating for safe and gentle birthing for women on a global level. I hope to someday travel abroad and see first hand the different environments in which women birth. I am a Certified Childbirth Educator through CAPPA, and am pursuing my Lactation Educator Certification. I am a supporter of the Coalition to Improve Maternal Services, and the Mother Friendly Childbirth Initiative, the Co-Leader of Nashville Birth Network, and an ambassador for CIMS BirthSurvey. I take an active interest in issues that affect parents, infants, and families. I believe that all things must begin locally and I plan on working towards presenting to our State Senate an initiative that will include Childbirth Education and access to Labor Support in prenatal programs for low income women.

As a Mother, I spend my time raising three amazing daughters with my wonderful husband. I enjoy music, literature, NPR, baking, cooking, gardening, and urban living. I try to take time to appreciate the tiny things in life. I go to the park and museums with my girls whenever I can, and long for more time in my day to play in the garden.
I have spent most of my life in the Nashville area, and am proud to call East Nashville home.
